is a grassroots organization established by concerned parents and other informed citizens of Newtown, CT to address the problem of substance use and abuse among young people in our community.

The Newtown Parent Connection can offer help and guidance to those struggling with issues of substance abuse.

For information or referrals, please call 270-1600. Calls are strictly confidential. You will be directed to other agencies and services available, as appropriate.

Group of Hope and Support

A weekly gathering for parents with children affected by substance use/abuse. This group provides a confidential venue for parents to get information concerning how to handle their child’s suspected or confirmed use of substances. Facilitated by a degreed drug & alcohol counselor.

Meets each Thursday. 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Bereavement Support Group

All are welcome. Facilitated by grief counselor, Wendy Davenson.

Meets first Wednesday of each month. 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Grands Place

A kind and compassionate support group for grandparents and caregivers who are raising children in a diverse situation. This is an open and ongoing group.
